The Governor George E. Pataki Leadership and Learning Center is being created by former members of Governor Pataki's Administration. The Center is a non-partisan organization that encourages citizens to be active in their community.

The Center will focus on providing educational programming for students in the 4th through 8th grades whose courses include the study of New York State Government. The Center's curriculum and activities will draw directly from the experiences of New York's 53rd Governor George E. Pataki.

NYS Governors Who Became Presidents

The Center will feature the four New York State Governors who have become President of the United States: Martin VanBuren, Grover Cleveland, Teddy Roosevelt and Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Governor For a Day

Governor For a Day

The Center will provide students with a hands-on experience encouraging them to be "Governor for a Day". A reproduction of the Governor’s office will allow students to participate in discussions and debates.

Using the Latest Technology

Using the Latest Technology

Using the latest technology in telecommunications and Internet applications, students will learn the mechanics of governing such as executive orders, how a bill becomes a law, the legal and functional differences between the executive and legislative branches, and laws guiding ethics and public information.

The Center is located in former Governor Pataki's hometown of Peekskill, New York. The Center will display Governor Pataki's official portrait until it is installed at the New York State Capitol.

The Committee's Role

The Committee's Role

We have taken the first step to making the Leadership Center a reality by establishing the Committee for the Governor George E. Pataki Leadership and Learning Center. The Committee's role is to raise sufficient funds and to hire professionals to develop and organize the future Center's programs and collections.
